Dorothy Elaine Louisa Stephens of Louisa passed away September 18, 2009, at UVA Hospital.
She was born September 17, 1946, in Louisa, the daughter of Lula Louisa and the late Albert Louisa.
Survivors include her mother, Lula Louisa; husband David Stephens of Louisa; daughter Angela Gibson and Rodney of Culpeper; daughter Tracey Willis and fiancé Jay Catlett and her beloved grandson, Garrett Willis, and Morgan and Walker Catlett of Scottsville; stepson Ed Stephens and wife Darlene and grandson Trevor of Florida; brother Benny Louisa of Louisa; sister Susan Fletcher and husband Duane Ryder of Louisa and a friend of many years who was like a sister, Ann Sacre, of Louisa.
Dorothy is also survived by her aunts and uncles Johnson and Margie Robertson, Ted and Arleen Ray of Louisa and Martha Smith of Cobham; nieces and nephews whom she loved like grandchildren and her many cousins and friends.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she sang and played the piano and the autoharp. She is surelysinging in the angel chorus today. She was gifted artistically and created beautiful wedding cakes. She never met anyone who wasn’t friend.
Family will receive friends Monday, September 21, 2009, from 6:00- 8:00 P.M., at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3092 Oakland Road, Louisa, Pastor Vivian Utz will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

I was blessed to have such a loving a caring Aunt. Caleb and I will miss Aunt Dorothy so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with Uncle David and all of the family. We know Aunt Dorothy is singing and playing music with the angels now.
