Dear Carol and Family,Terry and I send our deepest sympathy to all of you! Dave was a wonderful, caring person who loved his family deeply. He was an individual we were lucky enough to know and respected by many! I`d be remiss if I didn`t mention that my Dad and Mom valued his friendship and admired him, and you, Carol, very much! With sympathy,Terry and Suzi
Dear Carol and Family, Hopefully you and your family will get a lot of comfort from the remarks from those of us who had the privilege of working with Dave. In the airline industry, pilots are prone not to say too many nice things about another pilot, especially those senior to them. In the case of Dave this was not the case, he was respected by all and truly was a professional pilot. He brought honor to the profession and we thought the world of him. Our condolences to you and your family.Bill & Jacque Leefe
Dave was a wonderful man, and a good friend.Another friend characterized him as a straight shooter”. He certainly was. One knew where he stood and could count on him to be there when needed. More people like that would make our world a better place. He`ll be missed.Bob Klenke”

It`s a small world. I was born in Austin, MN, the SPAM capitol of the world. I had the privilege of flying with Dave some 25 years ago when I was a junior first officer at USAir. His professionalism was second to none, and I always enjoyed flying with him. This is not goodbye….til we meet again. All my best to his family.

Dear Carol & family,I was blessed to work with super crews at The Hawk. Dave was at the top of the list as he was my 2nd instructor on the F227 – that began our friendship! Dear Carol and Family—We are so saddened at the loss of our dear friend and fellow pilot. We sailed the Virgin Islands with him and a number of his close friends. He is also famous for inventing the infamous Dingerhoffen” during our cruise. We will cherish those memories. We are planning on attending the Mass on Monday.Jim and Dottie”
I will continue to remember Dave as a warm, kind man who believed in the best of everything. My condolances to Carol and the family
Dear Carol and family. In the mid seventies, Dave and I represented the pilots in the Washington Base, he as Captain Rep, and me as Co-pilot rep. While we didn`t always agree on every issue, he nevertheless suported me when others did not. I regret that I will be unable to attend his Funeral Mass, as my wife has an important cardiologist appointment that day which can`t be rescheduled. Please know that we will keep Dave , and the entire Loxtercamp family in our daily prayers.Love, Joe & Donna
Carol – I flew with Dave frequently in my first few years with MOH in UCA. He was a thoughtful pilot and person. He took the responsibility of teaching new guys like me the finer points of becoming an airline pilot. I enjoyed working with him. My sympathies to you and your family.John

We are here for you and want you to call on us if you need us. We love you.
Dear Carol and Family,We are so sorry to learn of Dave`s passing, but realize that he is in a better place now, in peace and comfort. My earliest memories of the Mohawk days always include Dave as I remember seeing him in flight operations in UCA. Dave was always professional and highly respected. Although we never flew together, we did socialize in the later years and always had good times together. Dave and I are both members of Survivors and that truly brought us closer together. Til we meet again!

If you could choose only one friend in life, you could not do better than Dave Loxtercamp. I worked with Dave on the Mohawk Pilots negotiating committee for two contracts, one of which resulted in a strike and resulted in the acquistion of Mohawk by Allegheny Airlines. The best unplanned result I could have imagined. Dave is tough, resolute, resourceful, dependable but also caring and compassionate. One could not ask for more in a friend. We are all diminished by his loss. Love ya, man. Joe McCann
Carol, Betty and I give you our sympathy. But we remember the good times together especially a couple of years ago when Dave, Bob Orr, Bob Flom and myself, four retired pilots spent a delightful day airport hopping in central west Florida and sharing the flying and a nice lunch, while you ladies were off doing your thing. We will be at the church on Monday
We will miss our Best Man of almost 50 years ago. Our family feels a great loss. We will remember many great times together. Such a wonderful person to be part of our lives.
Carol, Joan and I want to express our deepest sympathy for the death of Dave. He was a nice person, a fine man and a great pilot. I think they threw away the mold after they made him. We wish the very best for you and your family in the future.
Aunt Carol, I could not have asked for a more loving and devoted Godfather! Uncle Dave was always available to talk, watch over and just join in in anyway he could. I will never forget you and he showing up at the hospital when Dad was having his open heart surgery. His calming, strong presence, and dry sense of humor made that day so much more bearable. Thank you Uncle Dave for all that you did over the years. I love you so very much! Pam
Carol and Family: I was involved in many of Dave`s business deals and the one thing I could count on was his sound judgment, honesty and unselfish commitment to his business partners. He was a most honorable man. We all were better persons for having known Dave.
Dear Carol,I am the chairman of the USAPA bereavement committee at US Airways and have worked with Mike this past week to put out a memorial bereavement announcement about Dave. He is the epitome of the professional airline pilot. I did not have the pleasure to fly with him as I was hired by Piedmont Airlines in January 1987 and camped out on the 737. I was sorry to see he passed away at such a young age. He will remain in our pilot`s memories.Sincerely,Rick Rohas FO CLT AB
I am so sorry for your loss. I though this poem was perfect for David. High Flight Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings. Sunward I`ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun split clouds – and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of; wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there I`ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air; Up, up the long delirious burning blue I`ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace, Where never lark nor even eagle flew; And while, with silent lifting mind I`ve trod The high, untrespassed sanctity of space Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
We are keeping you all in our prayers and will always be thankful for David and Carol as they have always held a special place in my heart as they have shown me their kindness and generosity and loving nature through the years. God bless and shelter you and comfort you and those around you.
We are sorry for your loss. May the love and support of family and friends help you through this time of grieving. The closeness of your family is a living testament to the caring, supportive man David Loxtercamp was as a husband, father, and grandfather. Jerome, Deanna, Krista & Garrett Moreau
Dear Carol, Sue, Sheri, Michael and families,Please accept our condolences with the passing of Dave. Unfortunately, many years have passed, but I have fond memories as a child of seeing Dave and Carol in Ventura at Aunt Viola`s house. Please know that you are all in our prayers of support during this sad time. With love from your cousin, Jean, and my husband Phil and our children, Philip and Sarah Barbaro
Hi Carol. So sad to hear of Dave`s passing. Seems like just yesterday that Sherry and me spent the day at your house in Manassas, VA when I was transferred there to work in Washington, DC. But as I check the mental calendar, that was TWENTY TWO years ago! Unbelievable how quickly time can pass. You and Dave will always hold a special place in our hearts. You both are not only relatives, but some of the nicest people we have ever known. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. A fine fine gentleman for sure. Hopefully you and the family are well. We wish you the very best!Love,Pete and Sherry
