David Allen Whitlock, 59 of Mineral passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016.David was a member of Mineral Baptist Church; chairman of the Deacons and moderator of the church; he was instrumental in founding The Mineral Christian School. He was a member of the Mineral Business Association and owner and operator of Mineral Auto Parts.He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Whitlock.He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Elnor Whitlock; his wife, Debra T. Whitlock; daughters, Elizabeth Adkison (Billy) of Louisa, and Abby Whitlock of Gum Spring, a grandson, Konner James Adkison; one brother, Calvin Douglas Whitlock, and nieces, Virginia and Windsor Rose Whitlock.The family will receive friends 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Mineral Baptist Church; where a service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 20th officiated by Pastor Tom Everett and Pastor Mike Durham with interment in church cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mineral Christian School, c/o Mineral Baptist Church
Dave brought so much love and compassion to all those who knew him. Debbie our deepest sympathy and prayers for you, the girls and all the family. He was so good to our family and with his Godly wisdom he shared. He lived for Jesus! We will miss him very much, The Banning Family.
David was a well loved member of Mineral Baptist Church. He was always there to welcome you when you came in the church with a smile. He was well liked and loved by many. Thank you for being such a good friend to the Henshaw family. Mineral, VA, will not be the same without David. Praying that God will wrap his arms around your family and comfort them during this time.
Debbie and family…It was such a shock to hear of the passing of such a great man as David. Having knowing David before high school this comes as a set back not only in my life but to those who knew him. David helped on my car. And during the high school days would come to my house and sometimes having to drag me out of bed so I could get to school. If wasnt David then Doug was sent in to the house to get me. He and Debbie worked side by side built a good business and also built a upstanding relation ship at mineral baptist church. Prayers to Debbie and family! So very sorry to hear of David`s passing. I`m sure it came as a shock, and a grim reminder to us all that we never know when our moment will come. I have nothing but sympathy for the whole Whitlock family, and you shall all be in my prayers and in Judy`s prayers. Please be strong, as you always are.
David was a great and kind man. He was the first to help my brother when a drunk driver hit them in front of the church. He helped pull my brother out of my father`s truck and two others, and gave them first aid until the rescue squad got their. Just one story of his kindness. He will be missed by many.
David was one of the nicest, kindest people we`ve ever met. His smile and soft voice will be sorely missed. If ever there was a man that any young boy would like to be like…..model yourself after the wonderful David Whitlock!Love,Paul & Shelly Chesley

Of all the people I`ve ever known, I know I was blessed to have known David Whitlock with his kind and gentle soul. He always was there with a helping hand and a smile whenever you needed him. We only lived in Louisa for a couple of years, but got to know David through Mineral Baptist. Jesus` love shined through David every day in the way he went about life. He was a kind and loving man. There are not enough adjectives to summarize or describe this wonderful, sweet, dear, loving & caring man. I can still see David & his brother Doug diving into the pool, riding their bikes and flying down the snow covered hills. The most everlasting & memorable image is David`s forever genuine smile. David never seemed hurried, his calm demeanor touched all and he & his wife Debbie were always there to help or assist someone. How grateful we all are to have known such a fine man. All our love and prayers to David`s loved ones and family.

I am new to this area.(1yr)..But within that time..I met David through family…And everyone has spoken about him.exactly the way I felt after meeting him..Very friendly..had a nice friendly smile… I was told,he was good & kind hearted..My dad ( John Hall ) knew him well..He also thought a lot about David Whitlock. Dad told me how David actually came to his house..To bring him a car part that he needed..To help him out..that`s just one example..when my dad got the news he was so hurt..He just said..He was such a good man.
