Clifton Palmateer, Sr.

Clifton Ogden Palmateer, Sr., 87 of Kents Store, Va. Passed away on September 3, 2008 ; at Martha Jefferson Hospital; Charlottesville, VA. He was the son of the late Frank W. and Frances A. Palmateer, and proceeded in death by his wife Helen Robinson Palmateer.
Mr. Palmateer was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the VFW; a charter member of Millwrights Local 1831 and a former member of The Ferncliff Coffee Club.
He served his country in The U.S. Army, during WW II in the 29th Division.
Survivors include; two sons, Clifton O. Palmateer, Jr.; C. Michael Palmateer; three daughters; Wandra N. Early, Teena Tuttle and Dr. Tanya Oxenberg; one brother, James Palmateer; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; with an addition to join the family within the week making twenty-one and a number of nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted by The Reverend Ann B. Davis, at St. James Episcopal Church on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 2:00 P.M.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Saturday September 6 at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, VA.
Serving as pallbearers are; Clifton Palmateer, III, C. Tracy Tuttle, Daniel Oxenberg, S. Diron Early, John R. Early, Matthew Palmateer, C. Morgan Palmateer and Mark Oxenberg.
