Charlie Franklin Walker, 86, of Louisa, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011. He was born Saturday, September 13, 1924 in Louisa to Eddie Franklin Walker and Nannie Rosabell Grant Walker. Charlie served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a truck driver for Virginia Carolina Trucking Company, a member of the V.F.W. in Mineral and the Hardee’s breakfast club. He loved playing bingo, gardening, visiting with friends and neighbors and watching the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, baseball games and western movies.
He is survived by his sons, Lenny Walker Pauline of Gordonsville, Francis Walker Terry of Louisa, brother, Jimmy Walker of Mineral, sisters, Helen Miller of Chesapeake, Sally Hicks of Ashland, Shirley Phillips of Louisa, grandchildren, Lenny Walker, Jr. Tina of Mineral, Sandie Stockton John of Orange, Elizabeth Fletcher Ricky of North Carolina, Bruce Morgan Jacqueline of Charlottesville and Brian Morgan Sandra of Pennsylvania, great-grandchildren, Julia May Morgan, Brittney Stockton, Sierra Stockton, Katy Fletcher, and Nicholas Fletcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen Ella Rea brothers Early Walker Jack Walker Frank Walker Robert Lee Walker Lindsay Walker and a sister Ann Cannon.
/>The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday January 7 2011 at Woodward Funeral Home where a funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday January 8 2011. The Rev. Steve McClary will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.

I am real sorry about the death of Charlie. We are really going to miss him. I wish I could have been there for the viewing tonight but I just wasn`t able to, not being able to see very good with cataracts on my eyes and others in the family being sick and I won`t be able to be there for the funeral either, but my prayers are there with you and I love you all very much.
