Charles Norman Walker

December 9, 1950 – October 14, 2022

Charles Norman Walker, age 71, of Goochland, passed away on Friday October 14, 2022, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Charles was born in Mineral, Virginia to Samuel and Evelyn (Hix) Walker on December 9, 1950. He attended school at Louisa County High School. Charles married Gail Walker on August 3, 2004, at their home in Goochland, Virginia. He owned and operated Epperly’s Garage in Rockville, Virginia for 42 years. Charles took pride in his service as a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War with 101 Airborne division 478. He was involved in the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association, American Bowling Congress, a member of the Moose Lodge, a member of the VFW, and a member of the Virginia State Golf Association. Charles received ‘A Hole in One’ Award while golfing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He was a mechanic, muscle car enthusiast, farmer, hunter, truck driver, and an avid golfer (who did not want to pass any golf course by). Charles was an accomplished traveler and was always up for spur of the moment adventures including games of Chance with his wife, Gail.

Through the years, Charles enjoyed pitching (&WINNING) horseshoes at the state and national level with his brother, Ronnie. He had a wonderful sense of humor and would give you a firm lesson in a round pool any given day. He always loved early morning breakfasts with family & friends. Charles was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Evelyn (Hix) Walker. Aubrey and Mary (Davis) Cousins. Brother-in-law Fred Spain.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Gail (Cousins) Walker. Daughter, Richard and Angela (Troy) Jergnigan. Son, Kyle Troy and Tabi Riley. Daughter, Theresa Burruss. Brother, Ronald and Christy (Grossett) Walker. Sister, Beverly (Walker) Spain. Family, Thomas and Mellissa Heffinger, Darly Smith, Michael and Helen Marie Smith. 10 Grandchildren. 3 Great Grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. As well as Molly (one spoiled beagle).

Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm Wednesday October 19, 2022, at Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, Virginia. funeral services will be held 11am Thursday October 20, 2022, at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, Virginia. Burial will follow at 2pm, in Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richhmond, Virginia.
