Charles M. Winston Jr., passed away amongst family, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home. Charlie was born in the very same home on April 25, 1925. Family and friends could often hear him proudly boasting of how he had spent his entire life on his family homestead. His was the son of Charles M. Winston Sr., and Brooke Goodwin Winston. Charlie attended Louisa County Public Schools, and farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Louisa Memorial Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there for a number of years.Charlie was a Charter Member of the Louisa County Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he served his community for many years. He was a member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau, and worked with the Louisa County ASC office for a number of years. Charlie also served on the Louisa County Planning Commission. Charlie was highly regarded within his community; few individuals could hope to cultivate a legacy of integrity and selfless service to match his own. We are all a bit less without him. Arrangements are being made by Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa.
My deepest sympathy to you, Betty, at this trying time. We loved Charlie very much. Even though you will miss him and nothing anyone can say right now to comfort you, know that the Lord is with you and He is the greatest Comforter of all.
I have the best of memories growing up and working with Charlie on the farm. He was always full of enthusiasm. Made the work fun. Was patient with the young guys. He was someone to look up to.
Dear Betty – We were sorry to hear of Charlie`s passing. I`m sure the many friends that he had in Louisa County are saddened by the loss of such a good man.. We have a few memories, but you have many, and your memories of Charlie will always be with you. All our love to you. The Jordans
