Carroll Herbert Lamb

Carroll H. Lamb, 74, of White Haven, Pennsylvania, departed this life on June 25, 2016. Born In Louisa, Virginia, he was the son of the late Claude and Thelma (Shiflett) Lamb. He was a member of Louisa Baptist Church and attended Louisa County Public Schools. Carroll was an avid gardener and fisherman. He also loved pitching horse¬shoes and bowling. He was a member of the Chicken Pluckers and a life member of the American legion, AMVETS and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Before retiring, he was employed by Path Railroad as a signal¬man for 40 years. He was an honorable discharged Navy veteran, who served aboard the class attack cargo ship USS Vermillion AKA 107. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, is his brother, Cecil Lamb. Surviving are his wife, the former Bernice Plowman Lamb; son, Brain Lamb (Renee); daughter, Sharon L. Clune (Robert); and their mother, Joan Lamb, all of New Jersey. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Thacker, Geneva Riggs, Frances Lamb and Beverly Harrison, all of Louisa, and Betty Searles of Louisa, Virginia, and Shirley Baber of Charlottesville, Virginia. He is also survived by one grandson, one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather together on Tuesday, July 26 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. A private burial will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery with Paige Green officiating.
