Aug 09, 1948 – Nov 19, 2018
Carolyn L. “Lynn” Finn, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on August 9, 1948 to the late Richard and Pattie Otis. Lynn settled in the Blue Ridge Shores neighborhood in Louisa County in 1978, where she and her family made their home for the next forty years. In the ensuring years she maintained several jobs in the local community, to include North Anna Power Station, Louisa County Public Schools, and Louisa Healthcare Center. Most recently, until her illness, she was employed by MPS in Gordonsville, Virginia.
Lynn never met a stranger she did not like and she would spark conversation with anyone. She enjoyed playing bridge and watching her beloved Redskins, Red Sox, and Nascar. Lynn loved George Jones and country music. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoying a spirit.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jim Finn. She also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Shannon Abbott of Louisiana, Thomas Keating (Missy) of Fredericksburg, and Michael Finn (Shilpa) of Louisa; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Lynch, Bryan Lynch, Tori Finn, and Sunjana Finn were dear to Lynn.
Lynn’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation for those in the community that showed support during her lengthy illness. It is certainly a testimonial to the great community that Louisa County is. Memorial contributions can be made in Lynn’s name to the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center. At Lynn’s request a private memorial service will be conducted by the family at a later date.
Lynn was always the perfect host and caring person.
