Carole L. Milkevitch, 72, of Bumpass, Virginia, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at U.V.A. Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA. Carole was born November 22, 1934 to John Cermak and Sylvia Krohn Cermak in Chicago, IL.
Carole was a member of both St. Jude and Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Churches. She was a member of The Women?s Guild, and an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. An avid movie fanatic that especially loved older movies, she enjoyed making crafts with the ?Ladybugs? and sewing in her spare time. Carole was the beloved wife of Rev. ?Mr.? Joseph J. Milkevitch Permanent Deacon and beloved mother of their children. Early on in their marriage, Carole took an active role in the U.S. Air Force Officers Club, the Air Force Base Consumer Committee and The Hospital Wives Club.
Carole is survived by her husband of 53 years, her son Matthew Milkevitch, PHD, and wife Gail Reed PHD, of Willow Grove, PA, her daughters, Karen Jo Donnelly MA and husband Joseph of Monroe, CT, Joann Imlay CPA and husband John of Amissville, VA, and her grandchildren, Joe Donnelly, Christopher Donnelly, Joshua Imlay and Sarah Imlay. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Joseph Milkevitch.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Mineral, VA. Father Michael Duffy will be the presiding priest. A Catholic prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Mineral, VA, followed by a visitation. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus, along with friends of the family. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2007.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Women?s Guild, Carole L. Milkevitch scholarship fund, P.O. Box 40, Mineral, VA 23117. Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, Virginia is handling the funeral arrangements.
