
Carol Jean Cornett Bennett
March 23, 1952 – November 13, 2023
Carol Jean Cornett Bennett, 71, of Louisa, died on Monday, November 13, 2023, at her residence. She was born on March 23, 1952 in Ft. Belvior, VA and was the daughter of the late Roy Charles Cornett and the late Mary Agnes Overstreet Cornett.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack Bennett; a daughter, Jessica White (Joe) of Gordonsville; a son, Matthew Bennett (Johnny) of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Will (Rebecca), Drake (Maddy), Brooke (Devin), and Blake White; and two brothers, Charles Cornett and Bruce Cornett.
During her life, she was a member of Farlington United Methodist Church, Gordonsville United Methodist Church, and most recently, Louisa Methodist Church. She worked at Liberty Fabrics, Klearfold (Mead Westvaco), and Joe Joe’s Super Heroes, in addition to a few others. She earned her Associate’s Degree in General Management from PVCC and was a CNA for a short period of time. She enjoyed volunteering and spent many hours volunteering at Trevilians Elementary School and Scott McCoy Land Owners Association. She also volunteered as an Officer of Elections for the County of Louisa, the Louisa Emergency Fund, the Louisa United Methodist Church women’s group, the Louisa Food Pantry, and the KS Club. Carol enjoyed helping out in the church and enjoyed her time as a Sunday School teacher and as a choir member.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Louisa United Methodist Church, Rev. David Palmer will officiate. The family will receive friends after the memorial service in the social hall of the Louisa United Methodist Church. Woodward Funeral Home of Louisa is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Louisa United Methodist Women’s Group.

You were a great sister. I remember from being in Japan (I was 3 and you were 1)when Dad was stationed there and all the great times we as we progressed through life. I love you very much and will remember all the time we had together. I will miss you greatly.
Although I never had the privilege of knowing Carol Jean, I’m quite sure she was a beautiful woman inside and out. She seemed to be a very spiritual and giving person. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Carol when she was with MeadWestvaco. Have enjoyed her sharing her family with me on facebook. She was truly a wonderful person.

Marcia and I are saddened and surprised by Carol’s passing. She was healthy and thriving when we last saw her years ago. We are sure Jack, family and friends will remember her with love and we pray her memory is an inspiration and blessing.
