Brenda McFarlane, 46 of Mineral, Virginia (formerly of Cedar Grove, TN), passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2015.She was a graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School and was currently employed as a Sheriff’s Dispatcher.Brenda was an avid NY Giants and Pittsburgh Penguins fan and loved to tease her family and friends who rooted for her rival teams. She loved her dogs, Jag and Tara, her work, and spending time with her friends and family.She is survived by her 2 sons, Matthew Fulkrod of NY and Jason Fulkrod of NV; Her stepchildren, Karen (Bill) Diercks, and Gary Mcfarlane of Spartanburg, SC; Her granddaughter Alexis of NY; her 2 sisters, Darcie (Jeff) Beckwith of Hamilton, VA and Justina (Bill) Deskins of Gerrardstown, WV; her stepdad John Crouch of Mansfield, PA; Her grandmother, Shirley Seeley of Westfield, PA; 2 Nieces, Felicia (Miguel) Sergovia of Martinsburg, WV, and Dakota Gallahan of Hedgesville, WV; Her Nephews, Garrett, Ryan and Chase of Hamilton, VA, and Adam Diercks of Spartanburg, SC; She is also survived by 3 great nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with numerous friends, far and wide, many that she treated like family. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon McFarlane and her mother, Sharon Seeley.Brenda had a huge heart, was a caretaker to many, made friends fast, wore her heart on her sleeve and loved endlessly. She will be sorely missed.Family will be receiving friends at a celebration of life at Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa, VA on Saturday, February 21st at 12 NoonIn Lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department or to Suicide Prevention.

I have no words to describe how much I loved you and will miss you. I missed you when you moved, but thought I would see you many times for years to come. We were friends at first site and I will never forget you because you were one of those once in a lifetime friends. You made everyone feel like a special friend and had a heart of gold. she was the absolute best bus driver I ever had. After she quit driving the bus it was never the same. I was there for her when her husband passed. We lost touch and to hear this news I am absolutely devastated. I love and miss you dearly mrs. Brenda! You will never be forgotten. Fly high beautiful lady!
It is hard to put feelings into words because it still doesn`t seem real. We shared many, many good times. Gordon and Brenda were excellent neighbors and literally became part of our family throughout the years. We will miss you and pray for the families in this time of loss. Max & Brenda

Words can never truly convey our shock and sadness over your family`s loss. Brenda was a hard worker, wonderful example of persevering through difficult times, and an excellent neighbor. She will be sorely missed. Please know that your family will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
Although I knew Brenda for only a brief moment in time, her caring nature showed through the muck & mess her line of work often times requires. Her attentiveness to the ones she dispatched was appreciated and admired. She will be missed both professionally and personally. Brenda`s electric personality and kind heart brought smiles to all in her path. I will forever remember and be grateful for the impact she left on staff and children at the Carroll County Special Learning Center; everyone loved her and will miss her greatly.
