Billy Ray Stanley 76, of Louisa passed away, Thursday, February 24, 2011. He was the son of the late Cleveland and Hillian Stanley; and was also preceded in death by his wife Crystal Marie Stanley and a son Gary Randolph Stanley. He enjoyed music and played in a bluegrass band.
Survivors include his sons; Billy Ray Stanley, Jr. and wife Lynn of New Port Ritchie, Florida; Douglas Ralph Stanley and wife Patricia Ann of Bumpass, VA; his daughter; Anneita Stanley and husband Wayne Trainham of Louisa, VA.; Twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, February 28, 2011 in Spring Grove Cemetery, Mineral, VA with the Rev. Mike Nickle officiating.

He was one of my foairvte, foairvte teachers he made history come alive and fun! He was a major reason why I majored in history in college and why, today, I continue to read history books with a passion. He cared deeply about his students and stayed in touch with many of us for many years. I am deeply sad to learn of his passing, but the memories are warm and cheerful. Andy Watson `65
