Arnold Mac” Johnson 68 of Mineral VA formerly of Maryland passed away January 15 2011. He was born September 4 1942 to George Dewey Johnson and Lettie Hall Johnson and raised in Sugar Grove VA. He served his country in the U.S. Army after which he moved to Maryland and began his career with Ledo’s Restaurant where he worked for 41 years at their Adelphia MD location as a bartender and manager. He retired in 2005 and moved to Lake Anna VA full time in 2006. He enjoyed fishing golfing and working in the yard.
He is survived by his wife Jane M. Johnson sons Timothy Johnson and Thomas Johnson of Laurel MD sisters Susie Kilby of Aberdeen MD and Marie Turley of Sugar Grove VA brothers James Johnson of Sugar Grove VA and Oliver Moser of Aberdeen MD two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday January 22 2011 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa VA where a funeral will begin at 12:00 p.m. Father Phillip Morgan will be officiating the service in Louisa. Additional services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday January 23 2011 at Brookside Baptist Church Sugar Grove VA with the Rev. Donald Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Slemp Cemetery in Sugar Grove VA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to: Hospice of the Piedmont 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Charlottesville VA 22911-8618.
