
Joel Dale Hopkins
May 19, 1939- February 8, 2020
J. Dale Hopkins passed away on February 8, 2020 surrounded by his family. He is survived by the love of his life Sally; three sons Ricky, Jeff (Melody), Bobby (Kristin); four grandchildren Jacob, Tori, Holli, Kate; two great grandchildren Colman and Natalie
He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Dale was also a member of The Louisa Lions Club for 50 years and mayor for the Town of Louisa for 13 years. (Some of his friends still call him mayor.) He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, playing cards, watching the Redskins, the Nationals, and NASCAR racing.
He was a coach and Umpire for the Little League Baseball, and referee for Little League Football.
He loved to have a good time with family and friends, and always had a joke to tell. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Graveside Memorial service will be Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Cemetery Columbarium Louisa, VA. With a (Celebration of Life at Macedonia United Methodist Church. Donations can be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church Choir.

Was so shocked to hear of Dale’s passing. Will always remember his wonderful smile and outgoing personality. He will be greatly missed by his family and all his Louisa friends and his extended Hopkins family. We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Hopkins passing. We had met several years ago when we purchased a car. He instantly became someone we looked forward to running into around town. Mr. Hopkins was a great man and made friends anywhere he went. The community will truly miss him! Prayers and comfort are being sent your way!
