Ernest Daniel “Buck” Brooks passed away on July 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Bootsie” Brooks, his son, Danny Brooks, his grandson, Brian Brooks, his brothers, Pete and Kenny and his sister, Joyce ann. He was the son of the late Ernest & Willie Brooks.
Buck is survived by his daughters, Jean Lloyd (Larry), Sherry “Bum” Brooks (JR),Lisa Reed (Dennis), and Vinnie Brooks; his son, Jeffrey Brooks, (Christal), his grandchildren, Larry “Doo” Lloyd, Michael Dunivan (Amy), Chris Brooks (Jenny), Tina Dunivan Smith (Walter), Melodie Lloyd, Joey Brooks (Morgan),Kimberly Clements (Adam) and Sierra Brooks; his great-grandchildren, Tabby Dunivan, Jacob King, Dakota Dunivan, Chase Lloyd, Hailey Brooks, Xavier Brooks, Nathan King, McKenzie Brooks, Kaylea Brooks, Cody Clements, Jaxen Fleming, and Isaiah Brooks; his great-great granddaughter, Aniyah Payne and his siblings, PeeWee, Joan and Linda.
Buck proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, Special First Third Class from 1954-1957. Following his honorable discharge, he resided in Louisa County with his wife and children. He made his living doing drywall work until retirement. Buck never met a stranger. He was loved deeply and will be missed by many.
Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, Virginia where a funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Mineral, VA.

I could talk to you about anything and I often did. You always just seemed to make things better. Maybe it was your smile, inappropriate jokes, or realistic outlook on life. Maybe it was because you didn't judge. I'm going to miss you. I'm going to miss our talks. I'm going to miss every single thing about you. I love you. Today and for always.
